February 2007

According to the Karma Kagyu tradition, Mahakala (Yeshi Gonpo/Gonpo Berchen) is the one of the main dharma protectors of our lineage. In Rumtek every end of the year according to the Tibetan calendar, Grand Mahakala puja is performed by both monastery and shedra monks together in the main monastery shrine hall for the flourishing of Buddhadharma, to remove all the negative actions and obstacles, for the long-life of our guru, the17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Ogyen Trinlay Dorje, and to bring peace and happiness in the coming new year. As usual, this year also His Eminence Goshir Gyaltsab Rinpoche will be leading the puja. On the15th and 16th of February monks will be performing Sacred Lama Dance.
